Chambliss, Thompson are all-stars

The Midwest League all-star teams have been announced, and the Bees will be represented by Tyler Chambliss and Michael Thompson.

The league’s field managers nominated and selected the players for the 2007 Midwest League All-Star Game, coming up on June 19, hosted by the Kane County Cougars at Phillip B. Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva, Illinois.

Chambliss, a right-handed pitcher from Live Oak, Florida, has held opponents to a .168 batting average. He is 3-0 with an impressive 1.62 ERA in 16 appearances for the Bees. In 33.1 innings, he has struck out 44 batters. Chambliss has been working out of the bullpen this season, but he will make his first start of the season on Sunday afternoon at Beloit.

A native of Mission Viejo, California, Thompson ranks third in the loop with 11 home runs. The infielder/DH leads the team with 27 RBI and is currently batting .223.

I don’t envy the people who have to pick the all-stars, but i do have one question for them. WHAT ABOUT JOE DICKERSON?
