It’s Dollar Monday, and your Bees play their last home game in 12 days. Tonight’s 7 o’clock game is the finale of this seven-game home stand. After splitting a four-game series with Beloit, the Bees will try to avoid a sweep in this three-game set against Clinton.
On paper tonight’s game appears to be a pitchers’ duel. Fresh off his commanding 2007 debut with the Bees, 2006 Midwest League all-star Matt Kniginyzky takes the mound for Burlington. The Canadian righty is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA. Southpaw Kasey Kiker (3-2, 2.25), the Texas Rangers’ first-round selection in last year’s draft, pitches for the LumberKings.
After today, our next home game is Saturday, July 21, when West Michigan comes to town for four games. The series starts with Burlington/West Burlington Chamber night, featuring post-game fireworks sponsored by the Burlington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. It closes on Christmas Eve in July on Tuesday, July 24.
