Lately, we’ve had quite a few fans asking us when we’re bringing back this popular promotion.
Well, fans, great news: It’s officially that time of year once again. That time when we go bread-crazy here at The Hive. The popular giveaway returns to the ball park tomorrow night. We just got a big truckload of Sara Lee’s new 100-percent honey wheat bread. We’ve got “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” cued on the P.A. system, and we’re ready to hand out loaf after loaf as fans head out tomorrow night.
Tomorrow’s 6 p.m. game opens up a four-game series against the West Michigan Whitecaps. The Detroit affiliate is managed by former major leaguer Tom Brookens, who was part of the Tigers’ 1984 World Championship team, along with Great Lakes manager Lance Parrish.
Fireworks and ribs tomorrow
This is the first home action for your Bees since July 9. Tomorrow, we’ll have post-game fireworks sponsored by the Burlington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and J&M Displays. It’s our annual Burlington/West Burlington Chamber Night. It’s also Friends and Family Night, sponsored by Long John Silver’s/A&W. After the game, all fans are invited to run the bases, then find a place to sit in foul territory for the fireworks.
Tomorrow night, we’re also bringing back BBQ ribs from the Drake Restaurant and Bar. You can get them right off the grill, set up on the grass inside the main gate. Bees baseball, tasty slow-cooked ribs, fireworks, and free bread…Does it get any better than this?
