Bees get back on the winning track

On his way out to a commanding performance last night, Jason Godin gives his “Baseball Buddy” — Layne Holmes of the Montrose Mohawks — a high five.

Godin turned in a seven-inning gem in the Bees’ 3-1 win over the West Michigan Whitecaps. The “W” snaps Burlington’s four-game losing streak. It’s also the Bees’ first win in seven games against the defending Midwest League champs.

Speaking of streaks, outfielder Joe Dickerson made it 16 games in a row with a hit. He extended his personal streak with a bunt single that was part of the Bees’ three-run fourth inning.

Some fan photos from last night’s high-energy crowd that cheered your Bees onto victory on Dollar Monday:

Man, I wish I could get my picture on BEES BLOG!

    You will, I promise!
Actually, for quite some time now, I’ve been wanting to get a pic of your family (and several of the other families that support the Bees so faithfully). Problem is, I never seem to catch all of you guys together at the same time. Let’s set something up!

In the final month of the season here, I’m going to try to do a better job of getting more photos of SuperFans like you up on this page.

    Thanks, Trev!
