Randy still out, but Bees games back on the air

If you’ve tried tuning in to listen to play-by-play of the Bees games during this last week, you’ve discovered that the games have not been broadcast on the Bees Radio Network. The familiar voice of Randy Wehofer has not been heard on the air since last Thursday.

Randy has been experiencing increasingly painful back problems that have kept him out of the booth and away from the ballpark. If you know Randy, you know that in addition to being a Major League quality broadcaster and an invaluable member of our front office team, he is a very dedicated, hard-working person. With all of the hard work and little opportunity to rest his back, the pain he is experiencing has continually worsened, forcing Randy to undergo surgery later this week. We thank you for your understanding, and for joining us as we support Randy and wish him a speedy recovery.

In his absence of the “Voice of the Bees,” long-time KBUR sports director Don Brandt will be calling play-by-play of the final seven games of this eight-game home stand, starting with tonight’s 7 o’clock game against Fort Wayne. The games will be broadcast on KBUR 1490 AM and KBKB The Ticket 1360 AM.
