Bees, Wizards split; series finale tonight

Your Bees’ winning streak snapped last night, but not before they won their fourth straight game.

Jesus Soto singled in Jamar Walton in the seventh and final inning of game one of last night’s doubleheader at The Hive, giving the home team a 1-0 win. Jason Godin pitched six shutout innings, and Henry Barrera pitched a perfect seventh frame to notch the win.

The second game went into extra innings, but the Wizards promptly put four runs on the board in the eighth inning to take a 7-3 win.

The Bees turned eight double plays in the doubleheader — four in each game.

The Bees (22-23) will try to get back to .500 tonight in the 7 p.m. series finale.
