Bees win seesaw battle

Your Bees kept rolling Saturday night, topping Dayton 6-4 and topping the .500 mark (24-23) at The Hive. Each team led twice in the series opener, which featured three ties.

The Bees took the lead for good in the sixth inning, when Luis Castillo’s second double of the night plated Kurt Mertins for a 5-4 lead. Castillo was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI.

Josh Cribb (3-8) got the win in middle relief, and Angelo Morales picked up his first save and lowered his ERA to 0.92 with two scoreless innings to finish the game.

Winners of six of their last seven, the Bees will try to keep it going Sunday afternoon when we host Pot O’ Blue and Gold — your chance to support Notre Dame catholic schools and win the $100,000 grand prize. Game time is 2 o’clock.
