Honor Roll Day

May 23, 2008

The rain luckily held off as nearly 2,400 students from area Junior High and High Schools attended Honor Roll Day. We hope everyone had a great time, and we thank everyone who came and helped make it a very successful day!

Volunteers helped wrap 2,400 hot dogs; Thanks everyone!

The stands were full…..

….and the concession stand lines were long.

But everyone had a great time!

Bees Win Third Straight!

May 21, 2008

Your Bees are on a role right now after winning their 3rd straight Wednesday night. Adrian Ortiz and Jamar Walton both hit home runs in a 4-0 win over Kane County. Pitchers Matt Mitchell and Joe Augustine combined for the 2-hit shutout of the Cougars.

The Bees welcomed The Iowa Correctional Association to the Budweiser Party Deck!

Looks like they’re having a great time!

Attack of the Gnats! This was a familiar seen most of the night for both players and fans.

Bees Lose Rain Shortened Game

May 19, 2008

The Bees lose 7-3 to Kane County in an 8-inning, rain-shortened game Monday night. Newcomber, Kyle Martin continues his hot start to the season going 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.

The Bees and Cougars will play a doubleheader Tuesday starting at 6:00. Make sure to check out The Hawk Eye for a 2-for-1 General Admission Ticket Coupon.

Community Basket Day!

May 19, 2008

Nearly 2,700 fans came out to Community Basket Day on Sunday. Dot Widdifield was announced as the lucky winner of the community basket. Glenda Hohenthaner won a trip for four to Walt Disney World and Patty Baltisberger won $1,000. Both had to be at the game to win those prizes, proving once again that it “pays” to come to the game on Community Basket Day.

A special thanks goes out to The Chicken Lip Foundation for sponsoring the event once again this year.

Armed Forces Night

May 19, 2008

Saturday night was Armed Forces Night at The Hive. Current and veteran soldiers from all five branches of the military (Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, and Air Force) were honored throughout the night starting with a pre-game ceremony on the field. I thank everyone who attended. I also want to thank Linda and SOFT for all their contributions to the night.

Both current and veteran soldiers participated in the pre-game ceremony.
