Sunday, 2:00: Louisa Communication Kid’s Day!. All kids 12 and under get in for free and have the chance to run the bases after the game. Also, being it is Mother’s Day, all mother’s will get in for free as well!

Don’t forget, there’s a big weekend scheduled for next weekend (May 16th-18th) at Community Field. Friday, May 16th will be Royals Night. Saturday, May 17th will be Armed Forces Night. Great BLOG!

I think I’ll take a break from the Kernels action here in CR, fill my tank with over priced gasoline and head down to the “Hive”. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Burlington and I want to get back to a REAL Minor League Park. The ballpark is great and so are the fans. Maybe I’ll even have one of those $2.50 tall boy beers.

    GO BEES! GO Midwest League!

    Todd,

Thanks for your comments. We’ve got some great fans here in Burlington and look forward to having you here at The Hive!

    Alrighty…..just got back home.

Burlington was everything I remembered. I love that ballpark. Reminds me of the Old Vets Stadium in CR. Brought back some great memories of what minor league action was before the new stadium.

Though it was a small crowd, I didn’t mind. Sorry management but, I like small crowds. You get a more personal vibe for the game. The Bee’s players were great and so were the Snapper’s players. And the people/fans from Burlington……AAA+++! Friendly and funny. I especially enjoyed the older lady dressed like JFK’s wife Jackie. Eating the 3 musketeer bar with a smoke in her hand…..and letting us know what the players stats were. Classic people…..classic ballpark. My son loved the place!

Only bad thing……It was free to get in until 5:30pm and I got swindled into buying tickets. We were the 2nd and 3rd to enter the ballpark at 4pm. I’ll let it slide for having a great time. But, if you want us back (and we will sing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”)……you just let us know.

    Thanks again Burlington.

(If you were there…..I was wearing the George Brett old school powder blue t-shirt with the 8 year old boy who loves baseball.)

cedar rapids is a good place to see a bees road game, I wish they would go back to the old 3 division format and have C.R., Bees, Peoria, QC, and Clinton in one division and play more games against each other , and maybe just one series a year against teams from the other divisions, I think that would save the teams money on hotel expenses, and maybe help attendance a little, only problem there would be teams you wouldnt see in a particular year in your home park but unless they had some superstar you had to see I guess that wouldnt be that big a deal

    Todd,

Glad your experience was good (other than the ticket situation). I was the one requesting you and your son to sing. When you get a chance, please email me at jared@gobees.com. Thanks!
