Augustine and Ortiz at the All-Star Game

June 19, 2008

Both Joe Augustine and Adrian Ortiz represented the Bees very well at the Midwest League All-Star Game in Midland, Michigan Tuesday. The West All-Stars won the game 5-4 in 10 innings.

Ortiz started in CF for the West and went 1-for-3 at the plate with a single and RBI. Augustine allowed one hit in an inning of work but didn’t allow a run and struck out one batter.

Bees Win Again!

June 13, 2008

The Bees completed the sweep of Wisconsin Thursday night in a 5-0 win. Alex Caldera, Zach Peterson, and Chris Chavez combined for the shutout. Clint Robinson hit his 7th home run of the season.

The clouds looked ominous to the north most of the night, but the bad weather stayed away long enough to finish the game.

The Bees return home to Community Field June 23rd to start a 4-game series with Ryne Sandberg and the Peoria Chiefs. It will be the last chance to see the Hall of Famer this season at The Hive.

We’ll be up in Midland, Michigan next Monday-Wednesday for the Midwest League All-Star Game. We’ll be there cheering on Adrian Ortiz and Joe Augustine as they play for the Western Division Team. I’ll try to add some pictures of the events. Hope everyone has a great weekend and Happy Father’s Day to all dads!
