Pitch, Hit & Run at The Hive

We’re hosting a free Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition this Saturday at the ball park. The competition is open to any boys and girls ages 7 to 14, and it starts at noon.

Sponsored by Pepsi, this is “the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball.” Participants are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14.

The individual Pitching, Hitting, and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at this Local Competition will advance to the Sectional Level of Competition, slated for Saturday, May 19 at John O’Donnell Stadium in Davenport. The next step after sectionals is the Team Championships at Major League ballparks, then onto the National Finals at the 2007 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

All participants must bring a birth-certificate copy and fill out a registration/waiver form before the start of the competition. Participants may bring their own equipment, including bats and gloves.
